What's the overall message of Ephesians 1-3 or 1-2
How should we live our lives knowing that we have been placed Under God's feet for The Church. (1vs22)
Why call out both transgressions and sins? (vs1)
What dies it mean that people are "dead"? Is that everyone who don't have faith in jesus or just gentiles? (vs1)
Does Satans spirit work within people the same way the Holy Spirit works within those who are children of God? (vs2)
vs2 is the ruler of the kingdom of the air still at work in people today (Christian &/or non)?
What is kingdom/power of the air and if it is the devil why don't they just say that? (vs2)
"...the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient." (vs2) This is obviously a reference to Satan. But is Paul making a statement about the weakness of his kingdom by calling it a kingdom of the air? Is it like a chasing after the wind sort of thing in that this kingdom of the air won't last, is actually powerless, and is in vain?
Does God love or hate those who are disobedient? (vs2,4)
Is there a distinction between disobedient behaviour and being disobedient by nature? (vs2-3) (John 8:31 Jesus explains and outlines differences between being a child of the devil vs a child of God)
Is "the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints..." referring to God's holy people as a rich inheritance for God? Or is it more to along the lines of our rich inheritance in God in a similar way to 1 Peter 1:3-9?
What does it mean for us to be raised with him in the heavenly realms? (vs6)
How in the coming ages does God show his rich grace? (vs7)
vs7 says "in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus"". Surely we are seeing the riches of his grace today, so what does Paul mean about 'in the coming ages'"?
Is faith a gift from God? If so, why doesn't he give it to everyone? (vs8-9)
In what sense are the Ephesians/us raised up with Christ and currently seated in heaven? (vs6)
What works has God prepared in advance for us? (vs10)
V10 - when do the times reach their fulfilment?
vs10 what are 'the good works'? Does it link back to being predestined? Are they specific to individuals?
Do we have any choice in the good works we do or did God prepare it all anyway, what if we don't consent? (vs10)
Are those who are not children of God able to do good works?- what about the charitable work done by atheists? (vs10)
What is the difference between you/us - why make this distinction? ie you were dead but we are... etc
Why is all the work in this passage in the spiritual realms - don't people do anything? vs2, 10)
What are the covenants of the promises v12
